Colombian professional football player known for his work with the Boca Juniors club as well as the Colombia national team. He was known for playing as a midfielder and was referred to as "Chicho" by Boca fans for his compelling style of playing.
He first began his senior career in 1990 when he started playing for the club Deportiva Pereira. He earned further recognition playing with the Atletico Nacional club in 1991. He first joined the Colombia national team in 1993 and competed in his first FIFA World Cup in 1994.
He won several titles including Copa Libertadores, Primera Division Argentina, and Cope Inercontinental in the 2000-2001 season with the club Boca Juniors. While playing for the Boca Juniors club, he played in 96 league games.
He was born and raised in Medellin, Colombia.
