Also known as Frank Sorrentino or Maximo Sorrentino, he is a reality television star, stage actor, film actor, and luxury real estate broker. He gained prominence as Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino's older brother Frank on MTV's Jersey Shore. Since 2014 he stars in the TV Guide Network's reality series The Sorrentinos with his family.
He studied finance at Kean University in New Jersey and went on to study acting at the Susan Batson Studio in New York. His film debut came in the 1983 film Sleepaway Camp. He took a break from acting after that but returned to it after appearing on Jersey Shore.
In 2014 he decided to get back into acting and appeared in the Off-Broadway play My Big Gay Italian Funeral opposite Anthony J. Wilkinson. He also held various other television roles.
He appears in the TV Guide Network reality series The Sorrentinos about his family's luxury real estate business with his family members: mother Linda, sister Melissa, and his younger brothers Marc and Mike. He is of Christian faith and posts about it copiously on his social media profiles.
