American singer, musician, and worship leader best known for being a vocalist in the band Casting Crowns, which has been recognized as one of the most successful contemporary Christian bands of the 2000s and 2010s. In addition to vocals, she has also contributed keys and accordion to the group, which is best known for songs such as "Who Am I," "Only Jesus," and "Voice of Truth."

Before fame

She developed an interest in music at an early age and learned to play the piano when she was 10 years old. She went on to also learn the bassoon and guitar as a teen before joining Casting Crowns in 2001.

Trivia

Among its many accolades, Casting Crowns has won a Grammy Award and a Dove Award in addition to numerous Grammy Award nominations. In 2005, Casting Crowns won Favorite Band, Favorite New Artist, and Favorite Album at the CCM Readers' Choice Awards. The band was also named most played artist on Christian Radio in 2007.

Family life

She and her husband Ryan share three children together, all of whom she homeschooled.
