Iranian singer and composer who captured the world's attention with his 2014 performance of "Azan," the Islamic call to prayer. He released his debut album, Set Me Free, in 2011. Because he is very outspoken about his political views, he has twice been banned from performing in Iran.

Trivia

His 2013 album, Emperor, earned him a Musicema Award for Best Pop Album. He shares clips of his live performances on his mehdiyarrahi Instagram account, where he has earned more than 1 million followers. He has seen many of the videos on his YouTube channel earn tens of thousands of views each. By the fall of 2022, his Spotify audience had grown to reach over 25,000 monthly listeners.
