Businessman who served as the CEO of the clothing retailer Abercrombie & Fitch. He was one of the highest-paid CEO's in the retail industry before negative publicity and increasingly poor sales forced him to resign in 2014.
He graduated from the Columbia Business School in 1968 and later founded the women's wear brand Alcott & Andrews.
He came under fire in 2006 for his statements that he does not want unattractive people to wear Abercrombie & Fitch and that the brand was only for "cool" people.
He married Susan Marie Isabel Hansen, with whom he has a son named Andrew.
He and GAMCO CEO Mario Gabelli both attended Columbia Business School.
