About
Persian rescue cat and social media presence who became a global advocate for special-needs pets after losing both eyes to untreated illness and neglect in a pet shop and who's story is told across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and her own website.
Before Fame
She was sold through an unregulated pet shop in Oman, kept in a crowded wire-floor cage with poor food and water, and received no vet care. She developed untreated cat flu which destroyed her sight. She then had to have both eyes removed by a vet clinic to stop ongoing infection. She was cared for and stayed at Al Qurum Veterinary Clinic until she was adopted in 2014 by British expat Dr. Emily Shotter. She began being featured in Instagram posts and on sites like the Dodo in 2016.
Trivia
She's appeared in international press features from The Dodo, Newsweek, Times of Oman, and Beastly/Barcroft. She's been featured in books written by her human, Moet's Rules for Cat Owners and The Adventure of Moet the Blind Cat. She rarely meows and instead she's a squeaker, something her human mentions in her origin story and which went viral when Newsweek highlighted a "cutest squeaks" wake-up video.
Family Life
She lives in Muscat, Oman with her human Dr. Emily Shotter. She also lives with a small feline crew that has changed over time. Her longtime housemate is Luna who was adopted from the same vet clinic.
