Egyptian journalist, lawyer, and political activist who established the newspaper Al-Liwa to advance his political views. He also founded the National Party shortly before his death.
He studied to be a lawyer at the French law school in Cairo and the University of Toulouse.
He was a fervent opponent of the British occupation of Egypt and Sudan, and encouraged an end to the imperialism throughout his career.
He was born in Cairo, Egypt where he lived much of his life.
Gamal Abdel Nasser was also a prominent leader in the Egyptian nationalist movement, eventually becoming president.
