English professional soccer player known for playing as a midfielder and left-back for Manchester City and the English national team. He is also known for coming through Manchester City's academy and becoming one of the club's standout youth prospects before breaking into the senior squad.

Before fame

He began playing soccer at a very young age in Manchester and developed through local grassroots clubs Moston Tigers and Failsworth Dynamos. He joined Manchester City's academy at the Under-9 level. He had the option as a youth player to join either Manchester City or Manchester United and ultimately chose Manchester City. He signed his first professional contract with Manchester City in July 2022. He began representing England at youth level scoring for the England U16 team in 2021 and for the England U17 team in 2022 before progressing through the ranks to the U20 team in 2024. He made his senior debut for Manchester City in 2024 and made his senior debut for England in 2025.

Trivia

He became the third-youngest player in history to score twice in an EFL Cup final in 2026 during the final against Arsenal F.C. He scored a scorpion-kick winning goal in April 2023 for Manchester City's Under-18 team. He is also known for his Instagram account @nico33 where he shares soccer-related content including matchday moments with Manchester City, training sessions, behind-the-scenes locker room photos, and highlights from his performances along with occasional lifestyle posts and career milestones.
