Before Fame

She attended the University of Tennessee, where she majored in journalism with an emphasis on political science. Early in her career, she held broadcast roles in numerous locations including Washington, D.C., Lexington, KY, and Maryland before relocating to Nashville.

Trivia

She and her father co-wrote a children's book together inspired by their family dog called Live Like Grunt. She is also the creator of a clothing brand called All Boys Are Knuckle Heads Except for My Daddy, inspired by a mantra her father would encourage her and her sisters to say growing up. She is passionate about animals and has served on the board of Friends of MACC, the Nashville Metro Animal Care & Control volunteer and fundraising branch.

Family Life

She was raised by her father, Miles Burdine, who was a Marine Colonel, and her mother, Denise Burdine, who was a special education teacher. She has two younger sisters named Laura and Alyce. She and her husband, Justin, are parents to a daughter named Andi.
