Spokesperson for the Ugandan national government, as well as the Executive Director of the Uganda Media Centre, or UMC. Under his leadership, the institution attempts to facilitate communication of government policy and programs to the public. He mostly does this through media outlets in Uganda, as well as his personal Twitter page which has amassed over 380,000 followers.

He first joined Twitter in May 2012.

Trivia

In August 2022, he was sued by the Kampala city mayor Erias Lukwago for allegedly attacking him during a television news appearance. Lukwago claims that Ofwono punched and kicked him while attempting to evict him from the studio.
