R&B singer and songwriter whose debut mixtape B4 I Breakdown helped her earn over 870,000 listeners monthly on Spotify. Her music has been referred to as a combination of eclectic R&B and the uniquely Black British sounds of garage and grime. In addition to writing and performing, she also directs and creates treatments for nearly all of her music videos.

Before Fame

She sang in the gospel choir at her family's church as a child. In 2021, she started her ojerime Instagram account, which has since gained 30,000 followers.

Trivia

Her debut album was inspired by her own struggles with mental health, after experiencing a breakdown in 2019 which required a six-week hospital stay. Writing and performing the songs of her album helped her recover and show appreciation to those who supported her through the difficult time.

Family Life

She grew up in London, England with a music-loving family that always encouraged her artistic expression. She has a dog named Santi. She has a brother, who she has said is responsible for her love of music. Her father is Nigerian, and her mother is Jamaican.

Some of her many musical inspirations include Barry White, Dolly Parton, and '90s trio SWV. She first developed a love of dance by watching and following along with Mariah Carey music videos in her living room as a child.
