Before fame

She grew up in a middle-class family and initially intended to pursue a career as a bank manager. However, a friend of her father - a film and TV director - encouraged her to attend an audition, which ultimately led to her television debut in 2008. She went on to obtain a Bachelor of Commerce degree before fully committing to the pursuit of an acting career.

She is multilingual and can both read and write in Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada. She has a deep love of animals and has a pet dog named Snoopy who has appeared in several of her posts on social media.

Family life

She was born to Shiva Shankar, a police head constable and actor, and her mother, who is a homemaker. She has two sisters named Keerthi (who is also an actress) and Chandra Kala. After dating fellow television actor Nirupam Paritala for several years, they tied the knot in 2010. They later became the parents of one son named Akshaj (Ricky), who has made appearances in countless photos across his parents' social media accounts.
