Algerian chef restaurateur, and television personality known for his role as a judge on MasterChef Algeria and his international culinary career. In 2014, he opened Wormwood, his first restaurant, in London, where his Mediterranean-inspired cuisine drew praise from critics.
Before fame
In 1996, he earned his baccalaureate with honors from the Technical High School of Hussein Dey before enrolling at the University of Bab Ezzouar to study mechanical engineering. He also worked at Pierre Gagnaire's Sketch, the two-Michelin-starred Ledbury, and Momo's in London before opening his own restaurant.
Trivia
He is also known in the Algerian music scene by the stage name Donquishoot, as a former member and lyricist of the rap group MBS. After leaving the group, he pursued a solo career and released albums including Djabha Gagnant in 2002 and Galouli in 2003.
Family life
He is the son of a former mujahid and a housewife and grew up with eight older sisters.
