Known best as the founder and director of The Manuel M. Ponce Guitar Quartet, this prominent Mexican musician also formed the Colmex Choir and composed music for numerous theatrical productions.
During his early guitar training with instructor Manuel Lopez Ramos, he was introduced to the work of composer Manuel M. Ponce. In 1999, he recorded his debut album with his Manuel M. Ponce Quartet.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he directed Mexico City's International Guitar Festival.
He was born in the city of Tampico in Mexico's Tamaulipas state.
In the early 1990s, he composed music for several dramatic works by Federico Garcia Lorca.
