Popular Maori singer who was also a television presenter on Maori TV's AIA Marae DIY from 2012 to 2013. Her self-titled, debut EP won Best Maori Album at the 2012 New Zealand Music Awards.
She performed the Maori performing arts style Kapa Haka from early childhood and joined the Kapa Haka group Waka Huia. After her move to Wellington, she was in a reggae band called Hope Road that she founded in 2006.
She was the lead singer at the opening ceremonies of the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
She is of Ngāi Te Rangi and Ngāti Ranginui descent and is an activist for aboriginal awareness issues. She grew up in Maungatapu with her three older sisters.
She collaborated on Australian Idol winner Stan Walker's 2013 single "Like It's Over."
