Ricardo Arona

Retired Brazilian MMA middleweight and light heavyweight who was a former RINGS promotion Middleweight champion. In 2005, as a competitor in the PRIDE promotion, he finished as the runner-up PRIDE Middleweight Grand Prix.

Before fame

He began training in judo and karate at an early age. He switched to Brazilian jiu-jitsu at age 13.

Trivia

He won the Abu Dhabi Combat Club's (ADCC) world submission wrestling championships in 2000 and 2001. He did not lose a point in a single match.

Family life

He was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
