Alabama Ku Klux Klan member commonly known as "Dynamite Bob" who was convicted for his role in the 1963 bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church, which left four young African-American girls dead. The case was long closed before he was finally convicted to multiple life sentences for his crimes in 1977.
He drove trucks for an auto parts company and joined the KKK at age twenty.
After his case was initially dropped, he openly bragged to friends and family about his involvement in the bombing.
He was married to a woman named Flora.
The delay of his conviction was the result of a cover-up by FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover.
