He started his career in entertainment in 1955, in a voice-over role which he would go on to play for over fifty years on British television.

He reprised his roles of both Zippy and George for the BBC One series Ashes to Ashes in 2008 for its first episode.
Family Life
He was married to Hilary Tooze from 1959 until his death and is survived by his two daughters, Sam and Eliza.
Associated With
He had a role alongside Tom Baker, one of the original five Doctors, in the Doctor Who special The Five Doctors.
