Former captain of the Pakistani men's national team that played the position of opening batsman from 2003 until 2010. He played cricket professionally for 19 years before eventually retiring in 2019. During his professional club career, he played in leagues across Pakistan and India. Upon his retirement, he then began his broadcasting career.
