Racial justice activist who has gained fame as a prominent member of Movement for Black Lives, as well as the founder of the Campaign Zero initiative to end police brutality. He has also co-hosted the popular podcast Pod Save the People with fellow activists.
He graduated from Stanford University. He began his activism work with Promise Neighborhoods Institute at PolicyLink.
He was named to the 2017 Forbes 30 Under 30 list for law and policy. He was also named a black male achievement fellow with Echoing Green that same year.
His father is of Tanzanian descent, while his mother is Jewish.
He and DeRay Mckesson have worked together as policy analysts to help initiate legislation to end police violence against black Americans.
