Spanish professional football player who was best recognized for his work as a goalkeeper for both the Valencia and Real Madrid clubs. He is also known for having played as a keeper on several Spanish national teams including their youth squads and Olympic team. 

Before Fame

He started his career within the Calvo Sotelo youth academy and started training with Real Madrid in 1985. In 1988, he made his debut for the Real Madrid C squad before working his way onto their senior team in 1990. In 1993, after several years of youth teams, he made his debut with the Spanish national team as well. 


He is known for having won the Summer Olympic Games in 1992 as part of the Spain under 23 team. He is also known for having won the La Liga club in 1994 and 1996 with the Real Madrid squad. 

Family Life

He was born and raised in Madrid, Spain and shared a photo with his daughter to Instagram in May of 2019. He has seven children from two different marriages.

He played alongside Bodo Illgner during the 1998 season as part of the Real Madrid squad.
