Orthopedic surgeon, champion athlete, international speaker, podcast host, author, and Internet personality known for his health and nutrition-related content. He published the 2019 book The Carnivore Diet. He has accrued over 460,000 followers on his Instagram page where he also shares nutritional facts and tips about his diet and lifestyle.

Before Fame

He attended the University of Texas and earned a degree in biology before pursuing medical school. He earned his medical degree from Texas Tech University in 2001. He completed his orthopedic surgical residency at the University of Texas in 2006. He served as chief of orthopedics at various bases when he was involved in the Air Force. He started having health issues in 2010 and decided to deep dive into experimenting with various diets. He committed to the carnivore diet in 2016 and became passionate about it. 

Trivia

He played professional rugby for New Zealand. He has also competed in sports such as powerlifting, throwing in the Highland Games, and indoor rowing. He has also raised funds alongside other doctors to conduct the first-ever large-scale carnivore diet clinical trial.

Family Life

He grew up in a military family and moved frequently throughout his childhood. He married and had four children.
