Before fame
She initially studied medicine and worked as a hospital intern in Oran before pursuing a career in food media. She moved to France in 2002 which is where she eventually shifted her focus from medicine to cooking after becoming a mother. Her passion for Algerian home cooking led her to begin sharing recipes online and she launched her food blog Les Joyaux de Shérazade in 2011. She appeared as a culinary contributor on France 2's C'est au programme between 2014 and 2016. She began hosting her own cooking program Lamset Chahrazad in 2016. She published the cookbook Ma cuisine algérienne in 2017.

She served as jury president/guest authority at the Festival du Couscous Algérien in Oued Souf in January 2026. She expanded beyond Algerian cuisine into a pan-African Ramadan cooking series with Les Joyaux de Sherazade : Ramadan autour du Monde in early 2025.
Family life
She was born in Oran, Algeria, and spent her childhood between Oran and the Tlemcen (Remchi) regions of Algeria. She married when she was 24 years old and has lived between France and Algeria. She is a mother of three children. She learned to cook chorba as one of her first dishes which was taught to her by her mother.
