Before fame
He was diagnosed with speech, comprehension, and fine-motor-skill delays when he was 2 years old. He began helping his older sister cut fabric and use a sewing machine when he was 8 years old which improved his motor skills and inspired him to make bow ties. Family life
His mother Joy Brown encouraged him to use sewing to strengthen his motor skills and accompanied him on shelter trips. His older sister Dazhai Brown-Shearz taught him to sew after learning the skill from their grandmother.
