Self-help guru and self-appointed health, fitness and relationship coach Stephon Clinkscales, whose inspirational YouTube videos, with 450,000 subscribers, urge men to put themselves first, then focus on the people around them (i.e., women). He also has robust accounts on Instagram, 170,000 followers, TikTok, 60,000 followers, and Twitter 20,000 followers. Steph uses his fitness tips as the gateway to dispensing how to deal with women--having developed a kind of alpha-male spin on the "negging" tactics popularized by Neil Strauss in his 2005 bestseller, "The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists."

Before Fame

Back when he was a "simp," as he views himself before he became the alpha male he is today, Clinkscales used to work the counter at an auto parts store in Detroit, and growing up he got bullied. People used to tease him because he was short (5' 8"), and he lacked the confidence he has today.

Trivia

Steph got outed, gently, by fan Jimmi Jackson (@jimmi.jackson) for having exchanged needy texts on Tinder with a prospective date, who seemed to be setting up Steph.

Family Life

Steph's philosophy vis-a-vis women, or dating, is in the vein of the late Kevin Samuels, but the basis for his take comes from his interpretation of hypergamy--if you're not someone important, women won't even look your way, if a woman can't bring true value to your life, you need to move on, or, if your girl leaves you, let her go and don't let yourself get so depressed, there's plenty of women in this world, etc. Even so, back in 2020, he admitted on a Confidence Creator YouTube that he had a girlfriend. Much to everyone's shock.
