Lawyer who served as an officer in the U.S. Army during the American Civil War. He died as a result of wounds sustained during the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863.
He graduated from Harvard University in 1959, at which point he became a lawyer in Erie, Pennsylvania.
A statue of him was erected at Little Round Top, where he sustained his fatal wounds, in 1997.
His father was iron foundryman B.B. Vincent and Sarah Ann Strong Vincent. He was married to Elizabeth H. Carter.
He was portrayed by actor Maxwell Caulfield in the 1993 film Gettysburg.
