Historian grown popular as a presenter for historical programs like Hidden Killers of the Tudor Home, Hidden Killers of the Victorian Home, and Bloody Tales. She is especially known for hosting numerous programs on Tudor history.
In 2009, she earned her doctorate in philosophy from the University of Oxford. She later began working as a consultant for the Historic Royal Palaces.
She has authored many books on Tudor history including Henry VIII: 500 Facts, 1536: The Year that Changed Henry VIII, and Henry VIII and the Court: Art, Politics and Performance.
Her mother's name is Marguerite. She was previously married to Drake Lawhead.
In 2016, she co-wrote and presented Henry VIII and His Six Wives with Dan Jones.
