Actress who was widely known in the 1950s for her role as Calpurnia in the sketch "Rinse the Blood Off My Toga" for Wayne & Shuster's television comedy troupe.
She was a member of the Theatre of Action in Toronto during World War II and met her future husband, Ben Lennick, who was also a member and with whom she would create and produce many theater productions.
She and her husband, Ben, founded the Canadian actor's performing union (ACTRA), which had 22,000 members as of 2013.
She was married to actor Ben Lennick from 1943 until his death in 1996. They had three children: Michael, a t.v. producer, Julie, an actress and David, a radio disc jockey.
