Political activist and former member of the Canadian House of Commons. She starred in For Angela, the 1993 docudrama.
She grew up in Winnipeg with her father Joseph I. Keeper, a member of Order Canada, and her mother Rev. Dr. Phyllis Keeper. She and her siblings Joy, Lorne, and Barry, all became involved in the arts at a young age.
She was also a member of the Norway House Cree Nation where she worked on issues such as suicide prevention and violence against women.
She had two sons from a previous marriage.
She starred with Adam Beach in the 1990s Canadian television series North of 60 as RCMP officer Michelle Kenidi.
