Tina Tchen

American lawyer and a former official in the administration of former president Barack Obama. Her work involved issues related to gender inequity, sexual harassment, and a lack of diversity in the workplace. 

Before Fame

In the year 1975, she graduated from Beachwood High School. She graduated from Radcliffe College of Harvard University in the year 1978, and received her J.D. degree in the year 1984 from the Northwestern University School of Law.

Trivia

Between 2011 and 2017, she served as an assistant to President Barack Obama; chief of staff to First Lady Michelle Obama; and executive director of the White House Council on Women and Girls.

Family Life

Her father Peter Chou-Yen Tchen worked as a psychiatrist, while her mother Lily was a chemist at Syracuse University.

Associated With

She was CEO of Time's Up between 2019 and 2021. She resigned following allegations that she provided legal aid to former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo when his sexual harassment allegations were made public.
