Documentary filmmaker, portrait and art photographer whose accolades include Pictures of the Year International and NPPA's Best of Photojournalism. He is widely considered to be the most famous contemporary Polish photographer. He often creates photo essay projects made up of 12 black and white images. He has published several photography books, including Of Eagle and Man, Paradise Crossing, and Closer.

Before Fame

He initially intended to become a lawyer and earned a master's degree from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw. After graduating, however, he began to focus on his photography full-time.

Trivia

Since 1999, he has won over 100 awards. Some of these include the Grand Prix Picture of the Year from Grand Press Photo 2008 and Photographer of the Year from the 2014 Black & White Spider Awards.

Family Life

He is the son of businessman Aleksander Gudzowaty. His interest in photography was initially sparked by his uncle, who was a self-appointed photo chronicler of his hometown. He married Dominican-Spanish model Melody Mir Jimenez in August 2014. They have 2 daughters, Audrey and Alaia Bella.
