Before Fame
She started her career as a model in 2003 and gained attention when she became a finalist for the Miss Sri Lanka World pageant in 2007. After appearing in several commercials, she made her acting debut in the 2009 feature film Paya Enna Hiru Se where she played the role of Dinali.

She has won several awards for her acting including a Sumathi Award for Best Actress in 2011 for her role on the series Bonda Meedum.

She married Sujith Indeewara Wijeratne and together they have a daughter named Shenarya Umeily.
