Swedish politician who has risen to fame as the Leader of the Moderate Party and Leader of the Opposition beginning in October 2017. He began his time as a Member of the Riksdag in 2014, when he was appointed the shadow Finance Minister of the Moderate Party.
He earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Uppsala University. He began his political career as a campaigner at the Moderate Youth League during the 1985 Swedish general elections.
He served as Sweden's Minister for Social Security between 2010-2014. He worked as the chairman of the Chairman of the Moderate Youth League between 1988-2002.
He and his wife Birgitta Ed share one child named Siri.
He has served as the Moderate Party head and Leader of the Opposition during Stefan Lofven's time as Sweden's Prime Minister.
