Otherwise known as Prunus, he is best recognized as a member of the Romanian pop rock band Voltaj. The group has released over a dozen albums throughout their long career and won the title of Best Romanian Act at the 2005 MTV Europe Music Awards.

Voltaj formed in 1982, though their first album, Pericol de moarte, wouldn't release until 1996.

In 2015, Voltaj represented Romanian in the Eurovision Song Contest with the single "De la capăt."
