South African television actor known for playing Sgidi on the SABC1 soap opera Uzalo which he joined in 2024 during Season 10, along with his work in popular South African series such as Generations (2013), Rhythm City, Isibaya, Scandal!, Ekasi: Our Stories, and Zabalaza. He is also known for his international work in the National Geographic series The Hot Zone in 2019 and in Reyka in 2021 along with his work in films such as Leading Lady and Lady Grey as well as the TV film The Unknown.

Before fame

He developed an interest in acting at a young age and trained professionally at the YIT Academy at the South African State Theatre. He began his career in theatre and performed in stage productions such as Expelled From Life / Historical Movement at Wits Theatre in 2012 and My Richest Yard at Joburg Theatre in 2014. He transitioned into television through small cameo roles before landing a recurring role on Generations in 2013 which helped launch his on-screen career. His first international role came in 2019 when he appeared as Dr. Adogo in The Hot Zone. He landed his breakthrough role as Sgidi on Uzalo in 2024.

He is known for his multilingual acting abilities and can perform in Zulu, Xhosa, and English. He has skills in boxing, stunt work, and dancing. He has said children have been scared of him in real life because of how convincing his villainous character Sgidi is on Uzalo.

His full name given to him by his parents is Vusimuzi Leonelly Mdiniso. He was born and raised in Tembisa, Johannesburg, South Africa.
