About

Canadian ice climber, mixed climber, and paraglider pilot who has held the paragliding world distance record, with a flight of 423 km in Zapata, Texas. He is the host of the documentary series Fearless Planet.  

Before Fame

He grew up in a family that hiked, climbed, and went into the mountains whenever they could. The first sport he got into was caving, also known as spelunking. At the young age of 14, he started kayaking, and at the age of 16, he bought his first climbing rope. He flew his first paraglider at the age of 25.  

Trivia

In January of 2015, he became the first reported person to scale the ice-covered rock wall next to the Horseshoe Falls at Niagara Falls. He won Canadian National Sport-Climbing Championships four times. He also won three gold medals at the X Games.

Family Life

He and his wife Sarah Hueniken have two daughters.
