Co-director of the first claymation film titled Closed Mondays in 1974. His TV specials, A Claymation Christmas Celebration and A Claymation Easter both won Prime-Time Emmy awards.
He studied both physics and filmmaking at the University of California, Berkeley.
He won an Oscar and many Emmy Awards for his work, as well as for his studio's productions.
He grew up with a sister named Mary Vinton Folberg.
His studio produced a series called The PJs whose executive producer was Eddie Murphy.
