Economist, television host, writer, and political analyst who earned the Most Outstanding Alumna Award for 2005 given by the University of the Philippines Alumni Association. She served as Professor Emeritus at the University of the Philippines School of Economics. She also served on the United Nations Committee on Development Policy, the South Commission, and the International Food Policy Research Institute.
