He is also known for his Instagram and TikTok accounts under the handle @xidingart where he shares quick caricature videos, celebrity cartoon portraits, character design clips, event drawings, and no-AI drawing process content with over 460,000 Instagram followers and 180,000 TikTok followers.

Before fame

He trained as a classical painter for 10 years in his hometown and discovered his passion for caricature in 2009. He moved to Austria in his 20s for natural science studies but continued developing his art career and began sharing early content on YouTube in 2012. He began sharing videos of his caricature work and portraits on TikTok and Instagram in 2020.

Trivia

He appeared as a speed caricature artist on Die große Chance in 2012 and on Das Super Talent in 2019. He has won international caricature awards at Eurocature including multiple first place awards in 2014, 2015, and 2017. He was included in The Ultimate Guide to Modern Caricature.

Family life

He was born and raised in Shanghai, China before he eventually became based in Vienna, Austria. His wife helped play a role in the start of his professional art career after hiring him to create portrait commissions for her business.
