Indigenous Australian rapper, singer, songwriter, activist, author, and actor known for his albums Black Thoughts, Sugar Coated Lies, and Human? and for his Aboriginal rights activism, which he shares online on Instagram and through his song lyrics. He is also known for acting in and composing the music for the 2023 crime drama series Black Snow.

Before Fame

He grew up with a passion for music but did not initially pursue a music career. He initially pursued a Pre-Medicine degree to advocate for Indigenous health. He eventually shifted his focus to music with the goal of representing Indigenous Australian perspectives through hip-hop. He released his debut album Black Thoughts in 2015. 

Trivia

He grew up being influenced by artists like Mos Def and Archie Roach. He won Best Hip Hop Act and Best Indigenous Act at the West Australian Music Industry Award in 2017. He performed Black Thoughts live at the Sydney Opera House as part of its From Our House to Yours program in 2020.

Family Life

His full name is Ziggy Ramo Burrmuruk Fatnowna. He was born in Bellingen, New South Wales, Australia. His early life was spent in Arnhem Land and later in Perth, Western Australia. He is of Aboriginal (Wik) and Solomon Islander heritage on his father's side and Scottish descent on his mother's. He has a sister named Brydi.
