About
A newly-divorced woman named Emma moves to Arizona with hopes of making a living by training and boarding horses with her son Jake. While there, Emma struggles to make ends meet. She meets a man name Murphy, who helps them out financially and emotionally. As everything begins to work out, an unexpected visitor will change everything.

This film was based on the 1980 novella "Murphy's Romance" by Max Schott, however the movie's storyline was altered. The movie grossed over $30 million in box office sales. Actor James Garner received a nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical) at the 1986 Golden Globes award ceremony.
