Ash is chosen to play the hero role in in an ancient Shamouti Island celebration. Little does he know that the role involves a face-to-face meeting with the legendary birds, Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno. The film was directed by Kunihiko Yuyama.
Trivia
As of data collected in 2015 the film was the 88th highest-grossing film in Japan. Pop artist Namie Amuro performed the film's ending theme song "toi et moi."
