Before Fame
He began his youth soccer career playing for clubs such as Progreso and Montevideo Wanderers before joining the academy of Defensor Sporting. He made his professional debut for Defensor Sporting in February 2010 when he was 17 years old. He signed with RCD Espanyol in May 2011. He then expanded his career by playing in Mexico for C.D. Veracruz and in Australia for Melbourne City FC where he contributed to championship-winning seasons. He moved to India in 2021 and began playing for the Kerala Blasters FC.

He became the first-ever foreign player in Kerala Blasters' history to reach 50 appearances for the club. He ranks among the top assist-makers in the Kerala Blasters' entire history. His full name is Adrián Nicolás Luna Retamar. He married his longtime partner Mariana Hernández in August 2022. They have two living children together and one daughter named Julieta who died of cystic fibrosis in 2022. He often dedicates goals to his late daughter Julieta by pointing to the sky.
