NFL Pro Bowler that was first signed by the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2014. He was later signed by the New England Patriots in March 2020. During his professional career, he primarily played special teams and safety. 

Before Fame

He played college football at the University of Texas for three years. Following his junior season, he was named an All-Big 12 honorable mention. 

Trivia

He made his official NFL debut playing against the Miami Dolphins during week nine of the 2014 regular season. He and the Chargers lost the game 37-0. He posts family and football content on his phillips_17 Instagram page. 

Family Life

He and his wife, Camile, were married in 2017. The couple had a child in the summer of 2022. Growing up, he lived with his family in Garland, Texas.
