Writer, journalist, and broadcaster most widely recognized as the in-house film critic for BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, and for presenting the television series The Film Fan's Guide To... He has interviewed the likes of Timothée Chalamet, Michael B. Jordan, and the cast of Barbie for his BBC iPlayer series Movies with Ali Plumb, and hosted Q&A sessions and press conferences for major motion pictures including Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Guardians of the Galaxy. 

Before Fame

He graduated from the University of Warwick in 2008, with a bachelor's degree in English Literature. The following year, he also earned a Diploma in Magazine Journalism from the City University of London. He launched his journalism career in 2009 with a writing position with Empire Magazine and Bauer Media, which he held for over 6 years before beginning his employment with Digital Spy.

Trivia

In April 2023, he was declared champion on the reality competition show Celebrity Mastermind. That same year, he also co-hosted the BAFTAs Red Carpet event with Vick Hope.

On December 26, 2023, he shared a heartfelt post on his aliplumbInstagram account dedicated to the members of his family. The post accompanied several photos of his family's Christmas celebration, and featured his father, his brother, and his sister-in-law.
