Canadian lawyer and politician who served as the fourteenth premier of Alberta and was the first female premier from the province. As of 2014, she is only the eighth woman to serve as a premier in the history of Canada.
She attended the University of Saskatchewan and began her career working for Jim Prentice.
She was appointed as an International Election Commissioner to monitor Afghanistan's first parliamentary elections.
She was married to Robert Hawkes from 1985 to 1991 and later married Glen Jermyn, with whom she had a daughter named Sarah.
Peter Lougheed was also the premier of Alberta from 1971 to 1985.
