Season nine contestant on NBC's The Voice who finished as a semi-finalist on the show. She had already released two EPS titled Appleseed and Crinkle Bloom before appearing on the reality competition show.
Singing was solely a secret passion of hers growing up, but after a traumatic head injury from playing lacrosse, she turned to music during her recovery. She was pursuing am economics and art degree at Swarthmore College at the time.
She sold paintings she made in order to afford making the move to New York. When she got to Brooklyn, she worked as a waitress, in a bakery and at a bar.
She was born to an American father named Richard and Filipina mother, Deirdra. She has an older brother named Jake.
She initially chose Pharrell to be her vocal coach on The Voice, but she was stolen by Adam Levine.
