Angelos Postecoglou

About

Greek soccer manager and former player known for his management of numerous teams, including Celtic FC, the Australia men's national team, and Brisbane Roar. He played soccer at the senior level for South Melbourne from 1984 to 1993 and the Australia national team from 1986 to 1988. He launched his coaching career with a position as assistant coach for South Melbourne, and became head coach in 1996.

Before Fame

He joined South Melbourne at the age of nine and continued with the club for a large part of his senior career.

Trivia

He led South Melbourne to victory in the 1999 Oceania Club Championship. He was named the Scottish Football Writers' Association Manager of the Year for the 2021-22 season.

Family Life

He moved from Greece to Australia in 1970 after his father Dimitris lost his business. He has a wife named Georgia. The couple has three sons, James, Max, and Alexi.
