Classical violinist best known for her concertos of Mozart, Brahms, and Mendelssohn and who was the winner of the 1973 Young Concert Artists International Auditions.
She was born in Istanbul and her family moved to Detroit, Michigan soon after; she studied at the Juilliard School when she was eighteen.
She and her sister Ida have played concerts together for many years.
She married Bernard Mindich, an artist, and had a son named Matthew with him.
She grew up in Michigan and became a well-renowned violinist like Regina Carter.
