Before fame

She attended the University of Melbourne where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree before she eventually completed Honours in social work. She originally worked professionally in mental health and social work in rural Australia. She began performing stand-up comedy in her late twenties, and her early comedy career gained momentum in 2010 when she became a national finalist in the RAW Comedy competition. She released her television series The Edge of the Bush in 2017. She released the stand-up special Anne Edmonds: Why Is My Bag All Wet? in 2024. She became the host of the revived Australian comedy panel show Talkin' 'Bout Your Gen in 2025.

Trivia

She received Highly Commended recognition for Best Comedy at the Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2010. She shared a Best Script award in the 48 Hour Film Project with comedian Luke McGregor also in 2010. She won the Piece of Wood Award in 2015. She appeared as a contestant on the Australian version of the TV show Taskmaster Australia in 2024. She is known to play the banjo during some comedy performances. Her 2024 stand-up special Why Is My Bag All Wet? went on to win the 2025 AACTA Award for Best Stand-Up Special.

Family life

She grew up in the Melbourne suburbs of Essendon and Strathmore in Victoria, Australia. She began a relationship with Welsh comedian Lloyd Langford in 2018 and they have one child together.
